Australia Suspends Imports of Vietnamese Fresh Pomelo
On September 15, 2026, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry of Australia issued Import Industry Advice Notice No. 155-2026, suspending the importation of fresh whole pomelo grown and produced in Vietnam.
Effective from September 15, 2026, Australia will no longer permit the importation of fresh whole pomelo from Vietnam for a period of six months.
Goods that are already in transit and for which certification was completed prior to September 15 will be subject to inspection and verification upon arrival in Australia. Where necessary, remedial measures will be implemented in accordance with biosecurity requirements.
Fresh whole pomelo from Vietnam that is certified on or after September 15 will be subject to either re-export or destruction, depending on the circumstances.
