China’s first inland port and shipping data asset has been listed on the Shanghai Data Exchange.
On March 25, the domestic first inland port shipping data asset held by Huai'an Port City Industrial Investment Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Port City Company") was officially listed on the Shanghai Data Exchange. Representatives from the Shanghai Data Exchange, Huangma Port Industrial Park, and relevant financial institutions attended the listing ceremony. During the ceremony, Port City Company signed credit intention cooperation agreements with China Construction Bank, Postal Savings Bank, and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, injecting strong momentum into the sustainable development of digitalization in domestic inland port shipping logistics.
Port City Company is a state-owned enterprise under Qingjiangpu District, Huai'an City, deeply engaged in the digitalization of port shipping logistics. It leads the investment in the "Ship Connects the World" national network waterway freight pilot platform, which has served over 2,800 cargo owners by the end of 2025, integrating more than 200,000 social vehicles and 48,000 ships, with an annual freight volume exceeding 200 million tons, ranking among the top water transport platform pilot enterprises in Jiangsu Province.
Based on the data resources accumulated by the "Ship Connects the World" freight platform, Port City Company relies on the Shanghai Data Exchange to provide full-process data asset management services. After asset registration, accounting entry, and fair valuation, it successfully listed the "Huai'an Port City Industrial Investment Data Asset." This asset is based on the core business of port shipping, forming first-hand data covering the entire chain of national waterway and highway transportation, focusing on two key logistics hubs: the core channel of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Yangtze River Delta logistics corridor. It has regional influence and industry representativeness. The total data storage of this asset reaches 2.8TB, with incremental data achieving real-time dynamic updates; the data architecture is scientifically complete, covering 51 data dimensions and 5,515 core fields, spanning all elements and processes of port shipping logistics "cargo-vehicle-ship-port-enterprise-person-finance," providing core data support for the digital upgrade and intelligent decision-making of the port shipping logistics industry.
Wu Yi, Deputy General Manager of Port City Company, stated that they will further operate the "Ship Connects the World" platform, continuously refine high-value standardized data products, and promote the efficient circulation of data assets within a compliant framework. The credit funds obtained based on data assets will be primarily invested in data asset operations, port shipping digital infrastructure construction, platform technology upgrades, and application scenario expansion.
Zhang Kui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Huangma Port Industrial Park, stated that they will strongly support enterprises in continuously expanding platform scale, enhancing scenario expansion and data operations, and relying on the Shanghai Data Exchange to promote the formulation of inland shipping data standards, making it a new engine for local economic growth and contributing more exploration and contributions to the digital governance of domestic inland port shipping with Jiangsu solutions.
Liu Xiaoyu, Head of the Data Asset Trading Department of the Shanghai Data Exchange, stated that this listing is an important practice in exploring the market-oriented allocation of data elements in the inland port shipping logistics field. It is also a typical example of promoting the deep integration of data elements and the real economy in the Yangtze River Delta region, setting a new benchmark for the digital transformation of the domestic inland port shipping logistics industry. The Shanghai Data Exchange will fully leverage its platform functions and resource advantages to provide Port City Company with full-process data asset trading services and ecological support.
