The High-Quality Development Promotion Conference for the Jining Northern Inland Navigation Center Was Held.

On August 29, the High-Quality Development Promotion Conference for the Jining Northern Inland Shipping Center was held in Nishan, Qufu, Shandong. The event, themed "Green, Intelligent, Open, Win-Win," aimed to discuss the high-quality development of inland shipping and inject powerful momentum into the construction of a strong transportation nation in the new era.

This event focused on key areas of high-quality development for northern inland shipping, implementing a series of innovative measures and cooperative achievements. The Shandong Port and Shipping Inland Economy Research Institute and the Shanghai Shipping Exchange Jining Northern Inland Shipping Service Center were officially inaugurated, providing a professional research platform and market-oriented service carrier for the development of regional port and shipping industries. The conference issued a proposal to all members of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal Industry Alliance, aiming to build a new ecosystem for inland shipping characterized by green, intelligent, open, and win-win principles. The Beijing-Hangzhou Canal (Jining Main Line) Shipping Prosperity Index and Coal Freight Rate Index were released on-site, and the Jining Smart Transportation System and Network Freight Platform were launched. Additionally, three strategic cooperation agreements were reached, and nine cooperative projects, including integrated services for bulk commodity supply chains and ship trading and platform co-construction, were signed.

During the conference, representatives engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics such as trends in the water transport industry, deep integration of ports, industries, and cities, construction of port and shipping supply chain service systems, and the development of the Northern Inland Shipping Center. They shared cutting-edge insights, offered suggestions, and built consensus for the high-quality development of northern inland shipping.

The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal spans 210 kilometers through Jining, where over 80% of Shandong Province's high-grade waterways intersect to form a network. The Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government have entrusted Jining with the significant mission of "building the Northern Inland Shipping Center." As a key hub for northern inland shipping and an important node connecting rivers and seas, Jining is focusing on its role as the "Northern Inland Shipping Center" and is planning according to the "5375" strategy to construct "three major 100-million-ton port clusters" and "seven major 10-billion-yuan port industrial parks." The ancient "golden waterway" has transformed into an economic artery that connects rivers to seas and links the world.

It is reported that Jining, relying on the "F"-shaped logistics corridor formed by the intersection of the Wari Railway, Xinyan Railway, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, has opened 32 container shipping routes, reaching over 50 ports and covering trade in 19 countries and 152 cities domestically. "Made in Jining" pure electric inland container ships have already sailed globally, and Jining Port has become the first inland 100-million-ton port in northern China, successfully selected as a port-type national logistics hub city.

This conference was jointly organized by the Jining Municipal People's Government and the Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation, with guidance from the China Ports Association, the China Shipbuilding Engineering Society, and the Shanghai Shipping Fifty-Person Research Center. The event was hosted by the Jining Transportation Bureau, Shandong Ronghui Group, and the Shandong Port and Shipping Inland Economy Research Institute, with over 300 representatives participating.
