Hangzhou, March 5 (China News Service) (Wang Yifei, Zhou Ying) Reporters learned from the Zhejiang Maritime Bureau on the 5th that currently, 19 ports domestically and internationally have joined the "Container Shipping On-Time Cost Reduction" plan, which is uniformly deployed by the Maritime Bureau of the Ministry of Transport. Among them, 18 are domestic ports; 1 is an international port, which is Ho Chi Minh Port in Vietnam.
The "Container Shipping On-Time Cost Reduction" plan helps container liners use economical speeds to schedule port entry and on-time arrival, promoting punctuality and cost reduction in container shipping logistics, thereby attracting shipping resources and foreign trade enterprises to gather, providing solid shipping support for local industrial upgrades and investment attraction.
On the 4th, the first ship "Ningyuan Qin" of the Jiaxing-Ho Chi Minh route successfully docked at Zhapu D8 terminal, making Jiaxing Port the 19th port to join the "Container Shipping On-Time Cost Reduction" plan.
Ho Chi Minh Port is the first foreign port to join the plan. At the "China-ASEAN Trunk Container Ship Traffic Organization Integration" exchange seminar held in Ningbo last December, the Ningbo Zhoushan Port-Ho Chi Minh Port "Container Shipping On-Time Cost Reduction" route was opened, marking a key step in the "China-ASEAN" regional maritime collaborative cooperation.
It is understood that the Jiaxing-Ho Chi Minh route mainly exports local products such as Jiaxing furniture, synthetic rubber, and small appliances, and brings back Southeast Asian agricultural and industrial raw materials. It is a direct shipping channel that opens up the two-way trade logistics bottleneck between Jiaxing and ASEAN, enhancing the international competitiveness of local products. After joining the plan, a single voyage can save 56.4 tons of fuel consumption, reduce carbon emissions by 175 tons, save fuel costs by 250,000 yuan, and reduce ship waiting time by 11.5 hours, achieving cost reduction, efficiency increase, and green triple benefits.
Liu Houqing, Director of the Command Center of Jiaxing Maritime Bureau, stated: "As the only seaport in northern Zhejiang, Jiaxing Port relies on the advantage of sea-river intermodal transport. With the implementation of the 'Container Shipping On-Time Cost Reduction' plan, it achieves a transformation from 'first come, first dock' to 'precise docking', effectively improving the on-time rate and direct docking rate of ships, shortening the cargo transfer cycle, and helping Jiaxing to create a new foreign trade logistics hub radiating northern Zhejiang."
