Norway: July Salmon and Trout Export Statistics

According to Fishfarmingexpert, data from the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) shows that Norway's farmed salmon export value and volume in July grew by 16% and 10% year-on-year, respectively.

July export value reached NOK 11.6 billion, with an export volume of 147,891 tons. Poland, China, and the Netherlands were the main export destinations.

Export volume of fresh whole salmon grew by 12% to nearly 123,000 tons, with prices rising 8% year-on-year to NOK 71.48 per kilogram.

In July, Norway's farmed salmon exports to China reached 12,464 tons, valued at NOK 1 billion, up 27% and 37% year-on-year, respectively. Cumulative exports to China in the first seven months of this year totaled 75,800 tons, valued at NOK 5.6 billion.

In July, Norwegian trout exports totaled 8,432 tons, valued at NOK 692 million, with export volume down 10% year-on-year. Exports to Poland reached 1,988 tons, up 182% year-on-year, with an export value of NOK 103 million, an increase of 221%.

In July, Norway's exports of fresh farmed and wild cod totaled 2,189 tons, valued at NOK 191 million, up 7% and 34% year-on-year, respectively.

Fresh wild cod export volume fell by 47% to 674 tons, with export value declining by 34% to NOK 59 million.

Fresh farmed cod export volume grew by 96% to 1,514 tons, with export value surging by 147% to NOK 132 million.

Farmed cod accounted for 69% of fresh cod export value.
