Eggs: The delicate balance is about to be broken!
Egg Market Analysis
Today, egg prices in major producing areas remained stable with a slight upward trend, though some areas saw localized increases and decreases. The average price in major producing areas was 2.93 yuan/jin, an increase of 0.02 yuan/jin compared to yesterday. The average price for red eggs was 2.92 yuan/jin, and the average price for pink eggs was 2.99 yuan/jin, a price difference of 0.07 yuan/jin. The domestic egg market today generally showed a stable to slightly stronger trend. Although the number of pigs in stock remains at a relatively high level, and the overall supply is sufficient, farmers are generally reluctant to sell due to egg prices being close to the cost line for breeding, which has alleviated market inventory pressure to some extent. On the demand side, the full resumption of factory operations and the gradual reopening of schools have provided some support for egg prices. Looking at price performance, the index slightly decreased, indicating that the market still faces some adjustment pressure.

Egg Market Forecast
From the supply side, egg prices are nearing the cost of raising eggs, leading to widespread reluctance among farmers to sell and delay culling, with some even experiencing molting. This has alleviated current supply pressure to some extent and provided a floor for egg prices. However, this behavior essentially postpones supply pressure, which will weaken the potential for price increases in the medium term and may even accumulate more risks for the future market.
From the demand side, in the short term, with the resumption of work and school, there is a concentrated restocking demand in the terminal market, providing slight support for prices. However, we are currently still in the seasonal off-season. Therefore, after this concentrated restocking ends after the holiday, demand will weaken again, and under the pressure of a still ample supply, there may be another risk of a slight decline.
In summary, it is expected that the national egg price will remain stable tomorrow, with slight fluctuations in some regions, but the overall fluctuation range will be limited.
