Today, egg prices in major producing areas remained stable, with slight decreases in some areas. The average price in major producing areas was 4.72 yuan/jin, a decrease of 0.01 yuan/jin compared to the previous working day. The average price of red eggs was 4.69 yuan/jin, and the average price of pink eggs was 4.95 yuan/jin, a price difference of 0.26 yuan/jin.
After experiencing a V-shaped reversal in the previous period, egg prices today showed a trend of stabilizing at high levels. Inventories in producing areas and distribution channels remained low, and demand was mainly cautious. High temperatures suppressed egg production, compressing the actual supply of fresh eggs and creating strong support for egg prices. However, after a rapid price increase, market sales slowed down, and the market entered a brief period of competition between bulls and bears.

From the supply side, the core issue is that overall supply is at a historically low level, with daily fresh egg production passively decreasing, while the number of newly laying hens has not yet increased effectively. The tight supply situation is unlikely to change fundamentally in the short term.
From the demand side, as the plum rain season gradually ends in southern China, restocking demand from end-users is concentrated, indicating a peak season trend in demand. Mid-Autumn Festival stockpiling will begin in late July, and the start of the school year and peak stockpiling by restaurants in August will further boost demand.
Overall, supported by low inventory levels, the tight supply-demand balance will support stable egg prices.

On July 15th, the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) egg futures main contract 2609 opened at 4375, reached a high of 4448, a low of 4348, and settled at 4404, down 11/0.25%, with a trading volume of 796,842 lots and open interest of 346,321 lots.
Egg Index Analysis
According to data from Lenglianduoduo, the domestic egg spot price index on July 15th was 4.872, down 0.042 from the previous working day, a decrease of 0.855%.
