How Does Highly Active Dry Yeast (For Ruminants) Work?

Xianji-Highly Active Yeast (For Ruminants), as a biomass, promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the rumen and improves the rumen environment by inhibiting harmful bacteria. It primarily works through its metabolites and various active substances, improving the microbial growth environment in the rumen. This leads to increased microbial protein production, a higher proportion of beneficial bacteria, and improved fiber digestion and utilization, all of which are key to maximizing feed efficiency.

 

1. Active dry yeast can increase rumen pH by 0.3-0.5 units; it shortens the urea clearance interval in dairy cows from 4.32 hours to 3.32 hours, effectively reducing the risk of acidosis and promoting rumen health.
2. For herds with a lower baseline feed efficiency, the improvement in NDF (Neutral Detergent Fiber) digestibility from adding highly active dry yeast is more significant compared to herds not supplemented with yeast. This indicates that the yeast's positive effect on fiber digestion is more pronounced in herds with poorer initial feed efficiency, thereby improving feed conversion efficiency.
