1.使用物理方法鉴别真假钛白粉：最简单的方法是比较手感，假钛白粉较滑，真钛白粉较涩。水冲，手上沾点钛白粉，假的容易冲掉，真的不容易冲掉。取一杯清水，丢钛白粉进去，浮上来就是真，沉淀下去的为假（如果是活化改性的产品就不灵）。

2. 使用化学方法鉴别真假方法：掺了轻钙或重钙加入稀硫酸或盐酸，有气泡可以使澄清石灰水变浑浊，因为碳酸钙会与酸反应产生二氧化碳。掺了立德粉加入稀硫酸或盐酸，有臭鸡蛋气味。做成乳胶漆，加铁红，颜色深，说明遮盖力差的为假或质量很差的钛白粉。
