Singapore Suspends Imports of Poultry Products from Canadian HPAI-Affected Areas
On September 23, 2026, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced a temporary suspension of imports of poultry and poultry products from areas near highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak zones in Canada.
Due to confirmed HPAI outbreaks in the Rural Municipalities of De Salaberry, Cartier, Rockwood, and Rhineland in Manitoba, Canada, Singapore will impose temporary import restrictions on poultry and poultry products from within a 10-kilometre radius of the affected areas. Poultry products that meet the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) guidelines for HPAI virus inactivation through heat treatment will not be subject to the import restrictions.
Poultry products exported from the Rural Municipality of De Salaberry before September 10, 2026, and slaughtered before August 27, 2026, will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from the Rural Municipality of Cartier before September 21, 2026, and slaughtered before September 7, 2026, will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from the Rural Municipality of Rockwood before September 21, 2026, and slaughtered before September 7, 2026, will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from the Rural Municipality of Rhineland before September 22, 2026, and slaughtered before September 8, 2026, will continue to be accepted for import.
