Egg: Prices Hot and Cold in Different Regions(Oct 13)
Egg: Prices Hot and Cold in Different Regions
Egg Market Analysis
Supply Side
As temperatures decline, laying hen egg production rates are gradually recovering. Supply in major production areas is sufficient, farmers generally delay culling of old hens, large-size egg inventory remains high, production area inventory continues to accumulate, and supply pressure is gradually emerging.
Demand Side
Post-holiday consumption remains in the off-season. Food factories and traders show limited willingness to proactively restock, terminal demand is subdued, and overall goods movement is sluggish.
Market Outlook
Overall, the supply side has sufficient goods and accumulating inventory, while the demand side continues in the off-season with sluggish goods movement. Locally, improved sales of low-priced brown eggs provide some market support, but this is insufficient to reverse the overall weak pattern. Egg prices are expected to remain mostly stable to weak with range-bound adjustments. Some regions may see minor rebounds, but sustainability will be limited.
